Support a business owned by a local Hawaiian and do this tour! It will definitely be the highlight of your stay! It definitely was for us. Cody was a fantastic captain - knowledgeable about all the coves and history of the island, funny, and a wonderful host with pineapple and snacks after snorkeling. Everyone in our family agreed our trip with Blue Ocean Adventures was the highlight of our trip!! Try to book in advance. We got lucky and were able to book a trip on only 48 hours notice. A wonderful experience we would repeat any day!!
My 16 yr old son and husband really wanted the Zodiac experience and to be honest I felt a little unsure not knowing what to expect being in the open ocean in a zodiac at high speeds and swell but my concerns were immediately layed to rest when Captain Cody and Micah taught us how to properly sit on the side of the zodiac and.....hold on for dear life!! What a thrill!! During the very bumpy ride to the coast they stop once in awhile so you can take pictures and give your arms a rest. They also check in with you frequently to make sure you are ok.
Our whole family had a wonderful afternoon on this tour. Boat is super stable and awesome because it can go into the caves. Captain and crew are very personable and safety was a top concern of theirs. It was so worth it!
He and Micah were very knowledgable of the area, funny and definitely have great Hawaiian spirit! I am not going to lie, this 5 hr tour is physically taxing on your body but everyone can do this provided you have a positive adventurous spirit and can push through the discomfort at times...in return you get to see a part of Kauai that just is absolutely stunning and spectacular that will have a place in your heart forever. Blue Ocean Adventures, Captain Cody and his team: thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!!
